Fix One Thing by Graystone

Bring the task that keeps going wrong. Leave with it running.

One working session with your team. We automate a single task in the tools you already pay for, and a person approves anything a customer will read.

No roadmap. No agents. One thing, fixed, and your team knows how it works.

One task per session. Built in your accounts, with your logins. On site around Lexington, Kentucky, or by video anywhere.

The problem

Most AI advice starts with a roadmap. Your problem starts at 6 PM.

The lead that came in after close. The invoice nobody chased. The same five questions answered by hand again.

None of it needs a strategy deck. It needs one step that happens every time, whether or not anyone remembers.

Monday listExample
  • Call back the roof estimate from Friday
  • Reply to every new lead within five minutes
  • Chase invoice 1042, now 31 days late
  • Retype Thursday's intake emails into the sheet
  • Build the Monday numbers for the owner
Pick the one that costs you the most. We fix that one first.

Speed wins the job

In Jobber's 2026 survey of 1,050 home service owners, over half of customers expect a reply within the hour, and only 20% of businesses manage it. Read the report.

Owners want help, not homework

Goldman Sachs found in 2026 that most small businesses already use AI, but only 14% have it fully built into how they work, and 73% want training. Read the release.

Big projects stall

An AI plan with twelve workstreams is a plan nobody runs. One task, finished and owned by your team, is something you use on Tuesday.

How it works

One session. Your people in the room.

We build it with your team, not for them, so the person who does the task today is the person who knows how the fix works tomorrow.

Before

A 20-minute prep call

You tell us the task, how often it happens, who does it and which tools are involved. We confirm it fits in one session, or we tell you who should build it instead.

The session

Up to three hours, up to eight people

On site or by video. We build the automation live in your accounts on your real task. Your team presses the buttons. Anything a customer will read waits for a person to approve it.

After

A one-page runbook and 14 days of fixes

What starts it, what it does, who to call when it breaks and how to switch it off. Then a 30-minute check-in at day 30 to compare before and after.

Examples

The kind of thing one session fixes.

Illustrations of typical single-task builds. They are not client results, and your version will depend on your tools and your volume.

Example 1

The new lead reply

A form fill or a missed call triggers a reply within five minutes, drafted from your own answers to common questions, with the next step and a time window. The owner gets a two-line summary, and the lead lands in your sheet or CRM.

Example 2

The invoice chase

When an invoice is seven days past due, a reminder in your voice is drafted for one-tap approval. At 14 and 21 days it moves up a level, and you see the whole list in one place every Friday.

Example 3

The Monday one-pager

Every Monday at 7 AM, last week's jobs, open quotes and unpaid invoices are pulled into a single page in plain sentences, sent to the owner before the first call of the day.

Who it fits

Services businesses with one task that will not stay fixed.

A good fit

  • Home and trade services. HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, cleaning, landscaping.
  • Professional services firms of 5 to 50 people. Bookkeeping, insurance, legal, property management, staffing.
  • Multi-location services brands that want the same fix at every location.
  • One team inside a larger company, working in the tools IT has already approved.

Not a fit

  • Anything that needs custom code. We will point you to a developer.
  • AI phone receptionists, website chatbots and voice agents.
  • Tasks that touch patient records, card numbers or Social Security numbers.
  • A plan to automate the whole business at once.

The offer

Start free. Pay once for the fix. Keep going only if you want to.

Questions owners ask

Which tools do you use?+

Yours, first. The AI already in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, ChatGPT or Claude if you pay for them, and Zapier to connect apps that do not talk to each other. If you run HubSpot, Jobber or QuickBooks, we use the automations they already include.

Do we have to buy new software?+

Usually not. If a connector is needed, it should cost under about $50 a month, and we tell you that before the session, not after.

Is our data safe?+

Everything is built in your accounts and stays there. We use business plans whose providers say they do not train on your data, we keep nothing on our systems, and we do not touch patient records, card numbers or Social Security numbers.

What happens when it breaks?+

Your runbook says how to switch it off in one step. For 14 days after the session we fix anything that breaks. After that, it is yours, or you can add One Thing a Month.

Can you build us a chatbot or an AI receptionist?+

No. Those are bigger projects with more ways to go wrong in front of customers. We fix the step behind the scenes that makes the follow-up happen.

What does it cost?+

One flat fee for a session, agreed before we start. We tell you the number on the free call, along with whether your task fits.

We are a large company. Does this work for us?+

Yes, one team at a time, through the Team Pilot. We work inside the tools your IT team already approved and give them a plain data sheet before anything is built.
